Question no : 1

Let mine b the 1st quest.... what manual setting should b put for a sunny day around 11 am to 1 pm?

Answer :

Outdoors on a sunny day at about 9am to 11am or 1pm to 3pm.
ISO =100
Shutter Speed = 1/100sec
Aperture = f/8, f/11, & 1/16

One of those apertures should get you a well exposed image.

Notice that when you look through the viewfinder you should see a scale with a line. That is the camera's light meter showing you how correct it thinks your exposure is. If the line is to the left of center the camera thinks you are underexposing, to the right and it thinks you are overexposing, centered and it thinks the exposure is correct. Try the camera's exposure then adjust it until you think it looks right.

For greater accuracy turn on the Highlight Alert. If you see an important highlight that should show details, for example the white dress of a bride or the petals of a white flower, start to blink then you are overexposing. The right exposure can be found by making those white objects blink then reducing the exposure until they just stop blinking.
